Portrait of Beautiful Woman in Blue, c. 1840s Watercolor in Gorgeous Period Frame

My favorite find of the week--I find her so beautiful, and see looks to me as if she has seen, and knows, everything...like a goddess of wisdom resting her head as she watches us make a mess of things (hopefully soon to intervene! ) And while it is pretty much never that I have the perfect frame for something I love, I'd been sitting on this gorgeous one, maple I believe, which was just made for her: both c. 1840s, and the watercolor exactly the size of the frame opening, like a match made in heaven.

Framed: 9 1/8" x 7 3/4". Paper:  6 1/4" x 5".   Both in beautiful antique condition. Original glass, wood back.
