Phil Sellers River Hill Pottery Huge Basket Weave Pottery Platter

Regular price $75.00

This huge basketweave pottery bowl or platter is I think the perfect thing to place on a entryway table or on the kitchen counter as a catchall for all sorts of things, but would also come in very handy at a big dinner party piled with chunks of good bread! It was made and signed, 2010, by Phil Sellers, who with his wife Gail own and operate River Hill Pottery, located in an old cotton mill in North Adams, MA. The couple met while attending the Kansas City Art Institute, where they studied ceramics with Ken Ferguson; they founded their studio in 1978, and are widely known for woven pieces like this one. This is one of Sellers' one of a kind pieces, featuring unique extrusions and weaving patterns.

This piece measures 16" in diameter x 4 1/4" tall. It is in excellent condition, with no visible flaws.
