I've seen little vintage brass mice with spike tails used for punching and holding receipts but this, nearly 10 inches long and with perfectly proportioned, perfectly minimal (but yet very mouse-like) form, is quite a different thing--feels closer to a Carl Auböck! Excellent on a desk but I'd argue better treated as a sculpture, laying long and low across the edge of a shelf, say. Marked Japan on one edge of the underside, mid 20th century or a little earlier I believe. Love.
9 11/16" l x 1 5/16" t x 1 1/16" w. Very good condition, nice warm patina to the brass. One patch of surface wear to the back side lower center of the body as shown--not rough and just general wear, I don't think at all detracting.
