Pair of Vintage Mann, Japan ''Persian Hunter Circa 1642’ Handcrafted Porcelain Lidded Boxes / Bowls

Regular price $42.00

I think these bright orange porcelain "Persian Hunter 1642" boxes, produced by Mann, Japan in the 1950s, are absolutely charming. The lid of one features an archer in green and burgundy on yellow horse; the other is blonde on a green horse. On the sides of each are a brown spotted stag, a dog (I believe it is a dog!), and a couple of flowers. All are rendered in vivid color with wonderful detail, making for a pair of striking and delightful boxes great for jewelry; herbs, spices, sugars or teas; toiletries or office supplies, or any other manner of small treasures and assorted odds and ends.

Each box measures approximately 3.75 inches in diameter and 2.5 inches tall with lid. Overall excellent condition, with a bit of crazing to the pink glaze of the dog on one of the boxes.
