How much nicer to use this old hourglass timer than one's phone to track the minutes while boiling an egg, or to keep your Scrabble partner from taking forever?! At some point it must have been a thing to repurpose old wooden spools this way, and wisely so; it's a pretty great object, with a satisfying scale and weight--a pleasure to use but also nice just sitting on the shelf. I got distracted for a minute while testing it but believe it measures 4 minutes!
Great condition; aged and worn just right. 4 7/8" tall x 1 5/8" diameter.
