Minimalist Old Sliding Glass Wooden Bee Box with Great Patina

Regular price $48.00

This is a very simple one as far as bee boxes go--nothing more than a four sided box with two plates of glass held in grooves, to slide open or closed for catch or release. There are rows of old nail holes in the wood, so perhaps there was once some sort of frame around it, but maybe more likely the wood was repurposed from something else.  I love these old bee boxes for the way that they embody individualistic solutions to the problem at hand (in this case there is a W, or an M, I would guess the initial of the maker, carved into one side), but I also love them as stages of sorts, in wait of some theatre, real of imagined!

5 3/8"x 3 3/8" x 3 1/2".  Very good condition, with a mix of old iron nails holding it together, and a beautiful dry wood patina to the pine.
