A wonderful old folk art wall box, found in Lancaster County, PA, and made super special by the horse head at center, poking out like a taxidermied trophy but much better for being carved of wood, and better yet encircled by a cutout ring and carved columns to either side. Good for holding the newspaper, or mail, or nothing at all!
19 3/8” t x 10 3/16” w x 5 1/2” d and in good condition, with some minor dings here and there and one bit of wood lost to the ring encircling the horse head. The horse bust itself is in very good shape, with just a bit of wear to the ears. Great patina and just great. I removed an old bandaid on the backside bottom that was acting as a wall bumper!
