What I love about this tiny painting is that it the village depicted immediately makes me think of an antique German Erzgebirge Christmas village, almost as if the person who painted it had arranged a set of toy houses and a church and painted the tabletop scene. As such, I like the thought of it set on a tiny easel and displayed alongside an arrangement of them. And really quite a lot of coziness packed into a little painting!
3 15/16” x 2 1/2” and in good condition, oil on artist board, early 20th c. or so I would think. Signed Blanche Parsons on reverse.
