I love an old folk art ice fishing decoy and even better a decidedly make do one--and this one especially for distilling down to its essence what an ice fishing decoy wants to be. Two pieces of cut tin for the front fins, one more for the tail, with just enough painted color to impart it with the powers of seduction! Plus a lead weight on the underside to allow it to sink. I believe the body was a post of some kind, whittled to taper at the tail end, hence making me think of this as the bedpost doll of ice fishing lures.
9" l x 2 1/2" wide at fins x 2" tall at tail. Body is about 1 1/4" in diameter. Good old used condition, with two small eye loops on its back for dangling, one of them now with a wire loop through it for hanging.
