What's especially cool about this old carved whimsy is that the "shelf" separating the two balls slides all the way up and down inside. It was made to hang (the hanging loop is original to it), such that gravity forces the slider down to rest on top of the lower ball, but when laid on its side it can be positioned however one likes. It's an old one, carved of pine I believe, with wear to the paint along the corners, to the good I think.
4 5/8" tall (5 1/4" with hanging loop) x 1" wide and deep. Good condition, with no notable chips or splits that I can see. I believe there may be something carved in the bottom but I can't make it out if so.
