No matter how many sets of these I find, I always fall in love with them each time--just perfect design. This is an early set, with wood framed bottom box, and, as usual, the top of the box falling apart, in this case with a whole history of reinforcements evident, including a combination of white tape and hand-stitching. The colors on these early ones are the best, with the yellow more of a mustard, and the blue near black. The blocks themselves here are in perfectly aged condition, with only very minor paint loss, just softening the edges a bit in just the right way. Beautiful, and I do believe one can never have too many of these.
Box measures 5 1/4" square. Blocks are 1 1/16" cubed. Wear and repair to box as evident, blocks in great condition.
