Another antique British shoe shaped snuff box with brass nail decoration, as who can ever have too many little things? And I really love the fineness and particularities making each of these unique. The nails on this one are especially tiny and closely laid, forming a heart shot through with two arrows on one side, a crown on the other, and then three rows down the center of the toe with looping flourishes cast to either side. Best of all, two monograms hammered forever into the sole, JG and FM--soulmates I hope! Wonderfully done, and one can really feel the hand of its maker on this one.
3 3/8” l x 15/16” w x 1 5/16” t and in very good condition, with just a few of brass nails lost on the bottom, minor. The lid fits snugly and holds tight, but is easily pulled open and out.
