I really really love this Minnie, who looks to me maybe 15 years old or so, both lovely and awkward and seeming right in the middle of coming into herself. I also love that this is something of a triple portrait, with miniature portraits at her neck and hanging from her ear. Wonderfully earnest and clearly invested with love, right down the carefully inked Spencerian "Minnie" at bottom center. Signed Ida J. Tracy at lower left and dated Feb 7, 1872 at lower left--so perhaps done as something of a valentine to dear Minnie.
Framed, as found, in a perfectly suited period frame: 16 5/8" x 12 3/4". Sight" 13 5/8" x 9 5/8". Very good condition. (better than photos convey, shot through what I believe is the glass. Best sense of color of paper is in close details.)
