Nothing I love more that a small painting that feels as complete and resolved as a large one, which I think this one does; a little gem. I purchased it from a dealer whose mother brought it back from Paris many years ago, so know for sure it is French--and of course Rene is a clue, too! Great color and nice thick impasto that feels like icing on the cake.
Framed as found: 8 1/2" x 6 13/16". Oil, on board I believe: 7 3/4" x 6 1/8". A little dirty, and I think might pop a bit more in a wood or white frame, but fine as is.
