I found a forget-me-not/token of love/friendship along the lines of this one earlier this year, and have kept a keep eye out since as I think they're very charming--and not easy to find! Happily, at an estate sale this past weekend I snatched up a handful, which very well might all of have been made by the same person, most likely a young woman, some 150+ years ago or so. Gold foil and paper flowers arranged carefully under glass, with the glass reverse painted red to lend a fire-y passion to the "I love thee" sentiment! I love how formally akin these feels to antique reliquaries, but all the better as expressions of affection for the (once) living!
3 1/8" x 2 3/8" and in very good antique condition, with a hanging loop sewn to the reverse.
