One of my favorite things ever! I am pretty certain this fantastic folk art dog is Canadian, and would like to think sculpture pays homage to a favorite, much beloved sled dog. I really can't imagine a dog face better than this perfectly homely one, from the wonderfully messy whiskers to blood red tongue hanging out between painted teeth. Even more than usual, I feel like selling this guy is more akin to facilitating an adoption!
I believe he is made of plaster over wood, and he definitely has a patina on him. Some paint loss and a few dings here and there which just add to his charm; structurally he is in great shape and not particularly delicate. Unsigned. 4 1/4" long x 3 5/8" tall. Woof!
