I have a special weakness for old cake tins and chests, specifically those that have CAKE stenciled across their fronts. I think because CAKE is one of the best words ever, and also because it makes the tin feel like a present and a promise of marvelous delights. And this one, in old pink paint and rust here and there, seems about as perfect an encapsulation of the inherent tensions within Marie Antoinette's famous cake eating mantra as could be. Very good.
10" diameter x 6" t. Plenty of scuffs and stains and paint loss here and there, all to the very good in my opinion. Lid fits tight.
