This is the find this week that fills me with the most wonder and delivers the greatest joy: glorious shiny objects! Specifically, these are shards of ancient glass, most showing some, or a whole lot, of iridescence. People tend to call all iridescent glass Roman, but whether this is exclusively Roman or a mix including ancient glass from other regions I not expert enough to say. I can say it all feels very magical, and luxurious laid out in front of one! I found this collection in a cigar box at my favorite family run cabinet of curiosities antique shop in New Hampshire, and once home laid it out in this tray I had sitting around in order to see it and sort it. (And I think the tray is quite nice for holding it all, so I'll send it along unless you tell me not to.) Photos give a good sense, including of the tubular/wrapped construction of some pieces.
Tray measures 8 1/2" z 6 5/8" and I will include it; I will send along the cigar box in which I found the collection as well, which includes a bit more glass.
