Since finding an exquisitely bruised-looking old stone fruit peach, I've been on the hunt, with a very particular eye to what I'm looking for. This pair of pears--looking like maybe a Bartlett and and Anjou--completely fits the bill! Beautiful form, great color, very pear-like bruising, nice wooden stems--they look positively ready to slice up and put on the cheese board. I do believe old stone (marble) fruit, like clay marbles and bone domino, have officially become an obsession.
Actual pear size: larger is 3 3/4" t; smaller is 2 7/8" t. Great condition; I'd guess early 20th c. SOLD AS A PAIR.
