Lovely and Delicate Pair of Maine Folk Art Pipers

Regular price $95.00

Such a sweet pair it seems right they should stay together, one a sandpiper and the other a black-bellied plover I believe, both of which would scurry around the seashores of Maine, which I believe is where they originated. Such magical creatures to watch in action, and I think these carvings due full justice to their delicacy and elegance and light on their feet precision. And how to beat those fields of black dots against creamy white?

Plover (black belly): 3 1/4” t x 4 l x 1 7/8” w (base). Sandpiper: 3 1/2” t x 4” l (tail to beak) x 2 1/4 w (base). Both in very good condition. The shape of the base of the plover makes him lean forward a bit; one could put a tiny shim or spot of wax underneath if wanting him to tilt back a little more (either way great.)
