One of several early punch paper embroideries on ribbon this week, which came from the massive estate of major ephemera dealer with a penchant for punch paper (among many many other things.) Hard to argue with the message, and the stretches of (now) pale yellow striped, woven silk ribbon to either side read a bit like wings to me. Lovely love.
12 1/2” l ; embroidery 4 1/4 x 2. Stains and fading to the ribbon for sure, which seems right, but not much fraying, and embroidery is well secured to it with no losses that I can see. C. mid 19th c. I believe.
