Life Saver, Excellent Little Painted Cast Iron Lifeguard with Buoy, 1940s

Regular price $30.00

Fortuitously, I found this guy in the same spot as the large “beware the undertow” folk art painting just listed—lifeguard to the rescue! And seems to me a lifeguard, with a life preserver to boot, it something we could all use right about now! Pretty cute in his little red shorts, too. A little searching tells me he was made by Grey Iron Casting Co. as part of their “American Family at the Beach” series, 1940-48.

1 7/8” t. Some paint loss as documented, all to the good I think. Stands sturdy and flush.
