I've come across a few Victorian pin cushions made in this funny sort of boot shape, with long pointy toe and crook of a heel, which always feel a little witchy to me. This large one has a whole lot going one, which makes me love it, from the crazy quilt style velvet patchwork, to the variety of different hand-embroidered stitches used to piece it together, to the pinkish monogrammed band across the top reading L.A.S I believe (though that could be a "D" at the end.) Certainly as large a pin cushion as one might ever need, and would also fit right in hanging among the Christmas stockings.
10 1/4" t x 6 7/8" across at toe. Very good condition, no losses at all, and all seams holding tight. Light wear to the nap of the velvet, most evident in the gray square, detailed--not in the least detracting.
