I haven't been able to find a whole lot on JT Sayward, who signed this landscape at lower left, but I've found one other painting out there by him noting that he was a a Maine artist, based in or around Portland. A little further research leads me to believe that he was a member of the very prominent Sayward family of York Maine.
In any event, really a nice landscape painting I think, oil on board with satisfying impasto especially on the leaves of the trees, which frame a long view with mountain in the distance, one might guess somewhere in Maine.
15 1/4" x 11 1/16" and in very good condition. Sold as found unframed but I think in a dark would frame this would really sing.
