Jaunty Art Deco Porcelain Tea Pot with Orange and Black Design on White

Regular price $40.00

There is no end of great teapots out there; I have to stop myself from accumulating too many. But this one needed to be had! It's in terrific condition, and I love everything about it, from the triangular orange topper on the lid, to the jauntily cocked handle, to the gold rim around the top, to the bold orange and black leaf design, wonderfully enhanced with tiny green leaves here and there, making for little surprises.

I believe this is Czech c. 1940s, though have not been able to trace it. The marks stamped on the bottom include "12-22", an 8 inside a triangle, and an image of a cup with a 1-C under it. There is also an incised mark which appears to read 18.

The teapot measures 7 1/2" wide from the tip of the spout to the end of the handle, 4 3/4" deep, and 5 1/2" tall. Excellent condition, with just a tiny bit of loss to the gilding around the rim.
