While it would certainly be wonderful to have a complete (very rare) set of these old Ives and Company "Military Ten Pins," I think just as singles they are pretty terrific, and even better as a pair. Hard to beat mustachioed faces topped with red bowler hats, and those brass buttoned coats! They are made of turned and painted wood with colorful chromolithographed paper decoration and tapered "legs" screwed to wood bases. Patented May 5, 1885," I have seen a few different sets of these, slightly different from one another; I am not certain the year on these but they are definitely quite old.
8 1/8" tall x 1 3/4" widest diameter. There is a fair amount of wear/loss to the paper, particularly on the coats as documented, and some wear to the paint on hats and legs, but happily very little loss to their faces, and they are structurally super sound and stand up very straight! Price is per pin; two available, and it would be great to see them stick together! If you have a preference of pin, please just make a note on your order at checkout.
