A beautiful old puzzle lid snuff box for sure, but for me this is all about the IT, surely a monogram, but for me meaning that whatever one keeps inside it is most definitely important! In my dreams, someone would put a wedding ring inside this to deliver to their true love! But good for stashing all sorts small and precious things--including, say, a microchip! The wood on the short sides of the box is darker than on the long, indicating that it was held (and dipped into) quite a lot, so nice.
3 1/8”x 2 1/8”x 1 1/8” and in very good condition. The puzzle lid does not lock tight but closes fine.
