Hula Dancer, c. 1940s-50s Folk Art Watercolor Drawing

Maybe drawn by a soldier stationed in Hawaii during WW2, and/or maybe in advance of a tattoo? I found this one digging through a pile of old papers at Brimfield; there she was waving hello.  I like the strategic positioning of her lei and the dramatic angle of her body too. Ink and watercolor. 

 6" x 4". A few light creases and crinkles to the paper which seem all of a piece with it.
