This is one of a bunch of drawings by a D.B Webber of Concord, New Hampshire that I found together in a plastic sleeve digging through the files of a favorite antiquarian bookseller in Maine, all dated 1907--and it really made my day to find them, just my sorts of drawings, and of the sort it feels harder and harder to find. I haven't managed to definitively identify their maker, but there are plenty of records for Webbers in Concord and nearby. I think these pretty much speak for themselves--and of a lively mind, and eye, and hand, for sure. And this one with a great sketch on reverse, too--see details--of "Uncle Dan's Cabin" on wheels with wonderfully depicted figures and faces inside.
8 7/8" x 5 3/8". Double-sided. Red, blue, black ink and graphite on cream paper with some toning, as evident.
