I really fell in love with "Clara" when I took her clothes off! Underneath her floral dress, (with an old piece of tape on the back written with her name), I discovered there it was again carved into her bust in the most perfectly awkward handwriting. Her mustard yellow cloth torso is exactly right the right color to set over her very white painted face and body, which tapers to a very tiny waist, around which her cotton bloomers are cinched (I have not tried to remove those!) Her arms and legs are jointed, the former ending in wonderfully carved fingers, the latter in black boots with heels. And then that face, just completely open and sincere and as if humbly hoping someone will love her. I think how not too??? So very tender and sweet.
13 3/4" t x 4 1/2" w and in very very good, very clean condition. With dress, and slip skirt in addition to her bloomers!
