Hard-A-Port Cut Plug Lovely Ladies Playing Cards, c. 1890

Really fun, and very rare (I found a complete deck that sold at auction for $1400), here are 6 “Hard-A-Port Cut Plug” tobacco insert playing cards, which date to 1890 or so and were manufactured by Moore & Calvi Tobacco Company.  Sad of course not to to have a full deck, but these six alone represent quite the cast of characters! The backs are great too, blue on cream cream stock, with the Hard-A-Port sailor logo at center. 

Cards measure 3 7/8" x 2 5/16". Sold as a set of six. Lots of wear and some corner creases, but no major tears and still fabulous.
