These hand thrown mid-century studio pottery plates are earthy, sophisticated, substantial, and feel wonderful to hold. They were beautifully made, with glazes --one a painterly brown and dark indigo, the other a rich brown and putty colored--that follow the contours of their making. They would be lovely additions to a collection of earthenware pottery, and great for serving cheeses or small bites.
These plates were purchased from the estate of a prominent choreographer in Boston's Beacon Hill neighborhood, which included a wonderful collection of mid-century art and design.
Each plate measure 7.5" in diameter and × 1" h. They are in excellent condition.
