I'm quite charmed by this swinging tabletop picture frame, lovingly made by hand and incorporating a variety of woods into decorative details on all sides! I especially love the simply carved bird on the top, for which perhaps additional decoration was planned, but for whatever reason was left as is, and I love really it that way! Plus, this fabulous vintage black and white photo of a little boy, I think, looking rather unsettled atop decked out pony. (The photo, of course is easy to remove if one prefer to put something more personal in its place.)
I'd guess this frame dates to the 1940s or so, and is in very good vintage condition. There is one chip in the wood at one far bottom corner (the left, if facing it) and a little bit of aging to the finish on the top of the sides (which looks a bit like crackling, and I don't think detracts.) Really a fun piece for a special spot!
The frame itself fits a photo of up to 3.5" x 5.5". Overall dimensions are 11" wide x 9 3/4" tall x 2 1/8" deep.
