I just love this pot. It makes me want to cook a big pot of black eyed peas in it just so that I can put it on the table. But when not in use I'd keep it on the counter in the kitchen...maybe filled with a few bags of dried beans just waiting to be cooked!
Hand-thrown, it's beautifully made, with a great shape, and glazed a terrific warm, variegated mustardy-brown (darker on the lid, a bit lighter from lip to shoulders, with thin black bands near the lip of the lid and near the top and bottom of the body. It is signed (incised) on the bottom; I believe reading SP '99. Really a great piece and wonderful gift for your favorite cook!
6 1/4" tall x 8" wide x 7 1/4" deep. Lid measures 4 3/4" across. Excellent condition.
