I'd really love to meet the maker of this necklace, as I think it took a pretty interesting person to make such an interesting piece! It feels rather like a modernist's take on the kitschy charm necklace/bracelet, with this terrific array of unusual geometric forms dangling from every other link of the chain, and often several of them together. Beautifully crafted and I am pretty certain one of a kind, it feels dramatic, glamorous, and super fun to wear, and looks great with pretty much everything.
I'd guess it dates to the 60s or 70s and believe that it is bronze, but I am not 100% sure. I purchased it at an estate sale in Waltham, MA that had some pretty fantastic jewelry. It is signed (see photos) but I have not been able to trace the maker.
15 3/4" long, with screw clasp; the largest "charm" is about 3 1/4" long. I have not attempted to polish this as I like the patina, but the metal appears to be in excellent condition and I do think would shine up some if desired.
