I find the carving on this old spoon holder super sweet, and really love the specificity of its intent: to accommodate a full set of twelve utensils, each snug in its individual slot. I believe the wood is oak, and other than some dryness is in very good condition still, with holes at the far corners for hanging on the wall. The slots are shallow--for flat handled utensils, to be hung with the bowls or tines above the slots, handles hanging down. A lovely way to display a collection of favorite spoons, or maybe something else entirely!
