Hand-carved Mid-Century Wooden Swallow Wall Ornaments or Hair Combs- Set of Three

Regular price $45.00

These three hand-carved wooden swallows, dating from sometime between the 1940s and 60s, were once displayed as wall ornaments: I carefully peeled some old adhesive off of their backs, though traces of light green paint remain (just on the backsides). I have also found a few of these online described as hair combs or hair forks, and do think they would be truly fabulous for holding an updo in place! Beautifully made and with tiny beaded eyes, they'd be great anywhere they can be admired for their loveliness!

I believe one is ebony and the other two are either walnut or teak. There is a tiny hole in the back of each (visible in last photo) that could conceivably be used for adding a mounting pin of sorts. Each measures approx. 6.75” long x 1.75” tall;  very good vintage condition, with a small scratch to the surface of one of one of the lighter swallows.
