I see these old folk art turtle stools at antique shows now and then, but have never found one myself, and a really great one I think it is! C. 1920s-30s, these were made in graduated sizes; this is the second to largest variety, 15 1/2" long. All original paint, with the red painted first then the black around it, and mustard colored dots atop the red and for the face and toes. Very sturdy and useful still as a stool, though I'd be more inclined to give it a pedestal!
15 1/2" x 7 1/8 x 4 1/8" t. A couple of rough spots to the wood on the top and one knot along one side, as documented. Red felt on the bottom of the feet.
