Good Egg: Scarce and Excellent 1906 Bassett's Egg Shampoo Advertising Tin, Rochester NY

I came across one of these Bassett Egg Shampoo tins for the first time at an antique shop in Pennsylvania and was very taken with it--but then I saw the price!  Happily, a couple of days later I came across another at more of a hole in the wall shop, not so preciously marked. A wonderful example of package design,  produced by Bassett Supply Co., Rochester NY, c. 1906. With directions for use of the egg shampoo on the flip side of the tin. Charming.

2 3/4" x 1 7/8" Litho on good weight tin. General surface wear as pictured. Sides fit tightly together. Takes a little effort to pull them apart again but opens just as it should, with no evident dings or bends to the form.
