If Joseph Beuys and Judith Scott were to collaborate, perhaps they would create this! I'm not quite sure what it is, I guess the end/shoulder of an old tool, with the layers of wrapping--looking like a combination of wool and leather and I'm not sure what all bound with string--creating a cushion for the edge of iron underneath. As found, to my eye quite a satisfying thing.
Due to the weight of the iron, this wants to tip over, so needs to lean against something in order to stand upright with the exposed iron end tipped up but otherwise can just be set somewhere and would make a pretty great paper weight. 4 5/8" t x 4 5/8" w c 3 1/4" d. Tightly bound and very stable, not shedding, etc.
