I know this working duck decoy, and its female Golden Eye mate, came from an estate in Newburyport, MA, where, or near where, they were made. I'm no decoy expert and not dedicated to becoming one; I get excited about them for their sculptural qualities, the more primitive the better, and for their surfaces, made better by the years and work they've done. The shape of the dark green painted head on this one, with white cheek, yellow glass eye (on one side only) and long beak, completely does it for me, together with terrific surface on the painterly white dappled with more green. Folky and striking and elegant and awkward all at one, just love.
14 1/4" l x 7" t x 6" w and in very good, used condition. One glass eye missing and lead weight on underside removed, sits flat. Sturdy and sound.
