This huge old whimsy is about the size of a rolling pin, and with its big knobs on either end, it really rather feels like one! I've been liking, and happily finding, some larger scale whimsies of late, which feel more like tabletop sculptures than little carvings, as this one does. This one definitely has a good amount of age, and I'd bet was used by a few generations of kids as a rattle (or bat!). There is one well done old repair at one corner that I didn't notice until shooting detail photos, and disappears unless you are searching for it. There is also a small chink to the surface of the balls, which makes it slightly off-round; no really matter. It will stand on end if lightly learned against something, but also really nice just set along the front of a shelf horizontally.
