This enamel painted, cedar lined German cigarette box dates to the early 1930s I believe, but also feels very early 80s downtown New York to me. It shows some paint loss and a little rust too, but it's a rare one, and an especially cool one, and it feels right that it be dinged up a bit. I purchased this one from a dealer at Brimfield who had kept it in his personal collection for several decades.
4 1/2” x 3 1/4” x 1 13/16” t. Paint loss and wear as documented but good structural condition and still super sharp looking. There is a bit of residue/water stain at one corner of the cedar lining.
