French School Charcoal Drawing of Classical Nude Sculpture, 1893 (Smaller of Two)

Regular price $30.00

I purchased this and a second drawing by the same person from an estate sale here in Ipswich, which their prior owner purchased at a flea market it Paris many years ago. The drawings surely represent two different views of the same sculpture, this side view the smaller of the two. The paper shows some minor crinkling (at the waist) and toning from where it was once taped on the back (tape is now gone), but a 1893 charcoal drawing surely rolled up and carried around many a time seems as if it should should show some wear.

14 1/4” x 11 1/2”, charcoal on laid paper.  Unsigned, but the other drawing was signed E. Royer and dated 1893.
