I assume, as he looks to be holding a real gun, that this very beautiful boy is in fact a very young soldier--and I have learned that during WW2 Fred Harvey's Harvey House restaurants re-opened to serve soldiers as they traveled in troop trains across the U.S so perhaps that is when this Photomatic was taken. I find it quite a stunning portrait, including for the bright intensity of his gaze and posture, and that bandage stretching from temple to ear.
3 1/16” x 2 5/8” and in very good condition, with aging to the tin metal frame all to the good.
