Four Stars, Graphite on Laid, Drawn by Burt Gemberling, 1880, Aged 12, Snyder County, PA

One of three pattern design drawings listed today executed in graphite on laid ledger paper by a 12 year old Burt Gemberling of Selinsgrove, Snyder County, PA in 1880, as written at the top of this one.  Wonderfully executed, beautiful thing, drawn just slightly off square to the paper, which makes me glad, and looking at details you can very much feel the presence of his hand in every line. 

12 7/8" x 7 3/4". Graphite on laid, very good condition, with just a little toning around the edges of the paper. Blank reverse.
