I think it's the approaching summer (and the accompanying fantasies of going sailing) that is drawing me to ships in a bottle of late; this is the second I've found in just a few weeks. I've learned that Haig & Haig whiskey bottles were the choice of many a ship in a bottle makers, due I believe to the voluminous, dimpled or pinched shape. I believe this one dates to the 1940s or so and features a three mast ship with American flag raised at the stern. Dark green ceiling wax is holding the shop very firmly in place, and all of the sails are flying high.
7 3/4" l x 5" d x 4 3/4" t and in very good, very clean condition.
