Folk Art Pyrographed Owl on Fungus Conk

I believe it was likely a burning tool that was used to render this wide eyed owl on fungus conk--making it feel more as if this owl is emerging from within than imposed on top, which, in addition to the super folkiness of the owl itself, is what I really like about it. Very owl like and even a little haunting, with a bit of a feel of a cave painting!

6 3/8" w x 5 1/4" t x 2 1/8" d and in good condition, perhaps with a little loss to the rim/bottom of the conk, not visible from the front and I really don't know. This will stand on its own but slants forward; best to lean a bit against something or sit on a stand. Signed IKEY and I would guess maybe 1940s-60s but am not completely sure.
