Fish Among Rocks, Edwin Stetson's Old Carved and Painted Folk Art Plaque

This one was proudly signed by Edwin Stetson on reverse, which includes another drawing of a fish, and then another "Ed" for good measure. I think it's just terrific, very naive and also transcendent, with shallow relief carving giving a bit of dimension to the fish and chunky rocks below. I love the patch of white at top, distinguishing sea from sky, and the painterly treatment of this great green and yellow fish against deep blue. 

6 1/8" x 4" x 3/4". Very good condition. The writing and drawing on reverse make me think earlyish 20th c. With a newer hook on reverse for hanging.
