This is one of several charming, finely executed watercolors of floral specimens I am listing by a May Elizabeth Green--very delicately done, as they were meant to be, this one documenting a tulip tree blossom. Feels as fresh as if painted yesterday, and feels like spring!
8" x 5 1/8" and in excellent condition. Late 19th century I believe. At upper left in pencil at some point was written "school girls art by May Elizabeth Green", which could easily be erased as desired. A few of them have numbers on reverse, in this case 22, I believe likely its sequence in a larger portfolio of them she made.
